Paysafe Launches Crypto-to-Fiat Payment Option for Online Casinos

Paysafe has launched Pay with Crypto, a new payment option designed to let customers fund regulated iGaming and daily fantasy sports accounts with cryptocurrencies or stablecoins. The product was announced on April 7, 2026, for the US market and is powered by MoonPay.

The important distinction is that Pay with Crypto does not require the player account to remain denominated in a digital asset. The selected cryptocurrency is converted into US dollars during the payment process, allowing the casino or betting platform to credit the customer’s regular fiat balance.

This model could make crypto deposits more practical for licensed operators that want to serve digital-asset holders without restructuring their entire cashier around cryptocurrency.

How Paysafe Pay with Crypto Works

The payment flow is intended to resemble a conventional online deposit. When Pay with Crypto is available in an operator’s cashier, the customer chooses a supported cryptocurrency or stablecoin and connects either a self-custody or custodial wallet.

MoonPay’s checkout technology verifies the transaction and converts the deposited asset into US dollars. A QR-code option also allows the player to complete the transfer using a mobile phone.

The basic process involves:

  1. Selecting Pay with Crypto at the casino cashier.

  2. Choosing a supported cryptocurrency or stablecoin.

  3. Connecting a compatible crypto wallet.

  4. Confirming and verifying the transaction.

  5. Receiving the converted amount in the player’s fiat account balance.

According to the official Paysafe launch announcement, the product can support USDC, other stablecoins and major cryptocurrencies where local rules permit their use.

The operator has more flexibility on the settlement side. It can receive funds in US dollars or another major fiat currency, or choose near-instant settlement in stablecoins to a business crypto wallet.

Why the Crypto-to-Fiat Model Matters

Direct cryptocurrency deposits are already common at offshore casinos, but they remain much less widespread in regulated US online gambling. Licensed operators must account for local payment rules, player verification, transaction monitoring and anti-money-laundering controls.

Paysafe’s model separates the player’s chosen payment asset from the currency used in the gambling account. The player can spend an existing crypto balance, while the operator can continue managing deposits, wagers and withdrawals in fiat currency.

This structure may offer several practical advantages:

  • reduced exposure to cryptocurrency price volatility;

  • no need to display casino balances in Bitcoin or another digital asset;

  • easier reconciliation with existing fiat payment systems;

  • access to customers who prefer funding purchases from crypto wallets;

  • a more familiar account experience after the deposit is completed.

MoonPay provides the underlying checkout and conversion infrastructure. Its description of the crypto payment integration confirms that operators can settle in stablecoins, US dollars or other major currencies through its virtual-account infrastructure.

A Broader Expansion of the Casino Cashier

Pay with Crypto is not intended to replace cards, e-wallets or bank transfers. It is being added to the wider Paysafe Gateway, which already supports card payments, Skrill, PaysafeCash, Pay by Bank and more than 30 local payment methods.

That positioning is significant. Crypto is being treated as another option inside a multi-method cashier rather than as the foundation of a separate crypto casino.

For regulated operators, this approach may be easier to adopt. A casino can offer cryptocurrency funding alongside established payment methods without forcing every player to use digital assets or changing the basic structure of its gaming accounts.

Paysafe says interest in crypto payments among US online bettors is growing. Its 2026 research involved 2,550 active and prospective sports bettors across nine states, although the company also notes that only a limited number of state regulators currently allow operators to offer crypto funding. The findings and product overview are available in its crypto payments research report.

Compliance Questions Remain

Converting cryptocurrency into fiat does not remove the compliance risks associated with digital-asset transactions. Operators and payment providers still need controls capable of identifying customers, verifying wallet-related activity and detecting suspicious transaction patterns.

The main areas requiring attention include:

  • Know Your Customer checks;

  • wallet and transaction screening;

  • the source of deposited funds;

  • sanctions and fraud controls;

  • suspicious activity reporting;

  • rules that differ between individual states.

The American Gaming Association’s AML guidance was updated in 2025 to place greater emphasis on online gambling, digital wallets, cryptocurrency, fraud risks and stronger KYC procedures.

This means Pay with Crypto should not be interpreted as an unrestricted route from any wallet into a casino account. Availability will depend on the operator, jurisdiction, supported assets and the checks performed during the transaction.

Deposits Are Only Part of the Payment Experience

The launch announcement focuses primarily on account funding. It does not mean every participating operator will immediately provide crypto withdrawals or allow players to cash out to the wallet used for the original deposit.

That distinction matters because a convenient deposit method is most useful when the withdrawal process is equally clear. Players should still review:

  • whether crypto is available for both deposits and withdrawals;

  • which asset and network are supported;

  • minimum and maximum transaction amounts;

  • conversion rates and processing charges;

  • whether withdrawals must use another verified payment method.

A fast crypto deposit does not automatically guarantee an equally fast payout.

A More Realistic Route Into Regulated iGaming

Paysafe’s launch is less about turning licensed casinos into crypto casinos and more about connecting digital wallets to traditional gambling accounts.

The player can deposit an asset already held in a wallet, MoonPay handles the conversion, and the operator receives value in its preferred settlement currency. This limits some of the operational complexity that has prevented crypto payments from becoming common in regulated US iGaming.

Pay with Crypto will not remove jurisdictional restrictions or compliance obligations. However, it creates a more workable bridge between cryptocurrency ownership and regulated casino payments. Its wider significance will depend on how many operators adopt it, which states permit it and whether the same level of convenience eventually extends to withdrawals.
